Drumheller, AB: The first month of the 2023-24 AJHL season has concluded and the Dragons are off to one of their best starts in recent memory. The team currently sits tied for 1st place with a record of 6-2-0 and have three players within the top five in league scoring. The current league leader in points is none other than Dragons defenceman, Easton Adrian. Today, he was recognized for his great start and awarded the AJHL Player of the Month for September!
Adrian has put up 15 points in just 8 games this season, and is a massive reason to the Dragons hot start. He quarterbacks the Dragons first powerplay unit which currently sits among the leagues best at a 32% success rate. The next closest team is sitting at 25%. Easton is currently in his second year with the Dragons after having a tremendous rookie campaign last year. He has recorded 50 points in 60 games in his career with the Dragons playing alongside defensive partner Ryan Henderson.
Adrian is currently committed to play division one hockey for the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Engineers. He drew a ton of division one attention after an impressive second half of the season in 2022-23. He has carried that play into this season and is one of the top offensive defencemen in the AJHL and shows no signs of slowing down. You can watch Easton and the Dragons this Saturday as the square off against the visiting Drayton Valley Thunder. Tickets are available at tickets.drumhellerdragons.ca.
